Spring Turkey 2014

Well guys and gals,  this has been a wild several years and now one chapter in my life is closing.  I am now a college grad at the tender young age of 36.  But that's not what this post or blog is about,  it's about the chaos that has descended upon my schedule over the past 5 weeks.  The chaos I speak of has really dipped into my Sprinh fishing AND Spring turkey!  Granted becoming an RN is well worth a few missed days in the woods,  but I guy can pout, right?  So,  heres to a big ol' tom tomorrow AM,  and bragging rights with my buddies for a year.

Fly Fishing Film Festival 2014

Being a father, husband, student, and employee I don't get very much time to get out to movies.  But, each year I make it a point to attend the Fly Fishing Film Festival, this year hosted by The International Angler in the greater Pittsburgh area.  From past experiences I can't say that the movies were earth shattering or moved me to tears, but...they do provide beautiful scenery and feed the fire that has been smoldering over this long winter.  So, as spring closes in on us and my fly boxes swell  because my feather supply has been tapped, I truly can't wait for the lights to Dom and the projector to roll.  Gotta go...I'll let you know how it goes.

1st pheasant

Upland, here I come!

So, there I was.  Alone. Cold. Anxious.  It was still dark out that morning and as I sat in my car alone, cold, and anxious. Then! What's that?! Headlights appear from around the bend  on the gravel road that I too had entered upon.  The truck were still a good ways away, but only on destination when you are on that road.... My location. Who is this person?  Oh!  It's my buddies Mr.D and the elusive Mr.G!  I think I forgot a part in the beginning,  my friends are taking me pheasant hunting for my first time today.  Very excited! Oh yeah I'm Also obsessively early to everything.

Hiwassee River

Sombody told the trout to bite!

Great day in TN to fish!  The bite was on this AM, and on the coldest day of the year thus far.   The brave reaped the benefits.   Blue winged olives were what's for breakfast on the Hiwassee River.
